Having taught in primary schools for 20 years, I decided to take on a new role as an educational consultant with Kreative Futures.
The last 5 years as a Year 6 teacher, I was the Primary Literacy Leader, which led me to being awarded the role of Specialist Leader in Education in Primary Literacy. I was also teaching the Outstanding Teaching Programme and the Improving Teacher Programme on behalf of Olevi.
Whilst working at Norwood Green Junior School, I was given the opportunity to work alongside Pie Corbett and the National Gallery with 21 other leading London teachers on Out of Art into Story-telling.
The school also gave wonderful experience with teaching a multitude of cultures; at one point I had 12 different nationalities in my class. Their progress was phenomenal. In one of the years, 13 pupils entered Year 6 with a level 2 for reading and writing, all of those pupils achieved a level 4 and above, in old money.
Since then I have worked with many different schools and organisations to raise standards and improve creative teaching.
I have written a book of short texts across different genres for teachers to demonstrate National Curriculum writing and grammar criteria whilst using accessible language and cross-curricular links. This has been accepted by Routledge for publishing.
I am also in the process of writing a guided reading resource book for teachers with texts that challenge pupils and questions that deepen their understanding. It will also include activities for the pupils to develop their comprehension and apply their knowledge.
I have also written two fiction books for children.
Will travel in the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and London areas. All prices do not include travel expenses. Travel expenses will be added. To book a free meeting or find out more information call on 01628 635019 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
"Leysa is an exceedingly talented teacher who has very sound pedagogy about teaching and actively seeks to develop the whole child. Her teaching style ensures that all pupils develop improved meta-cognition and that they become more developed thinkers. Her ability to facilitate the children in developing their own learning is impressive and the motivation and positive response from children is evident as a result. Pupil autonomy and independence is valued greatly by Leysa.
Leysa is extremely conscientious and talented teacher and was a very highly valued member of staff. Less experienced members of staff have benefitted enormously from observing her teaching and her management. She has a bit of a wicked sense of humour and this is always used to great effect both
within the classroom and the staffroom! I have always greatly valued Leysa’s skill as a teacher and manager and would not hesitate to work with her again given the chance."
